Another exhuast question!

Hey there all! I have a question for you all! I am wondering.. if I were to buy mid-tube headers, hi-flow cat, and a hi-perf muffler, and had midas or munroe or some other exhuast shop build the rest, will the hp gains be about the same as buying a $500 Bassani, GMMP, or whatever else? Thanx,
Matt

Re: Another exhuast question!

Yes, as long as the shop putting it all together uses 3" mandrel bent tubing.

Awesome! Thanks AGAIN for saving my ****, Justin!
But I am thinking that I want 2.5" tubing, not 3", to retain the torque on my 305. I have heard that 3" would be pushing it as far as torque goes.

As long as you are still planning on running a cat, and don't go larger than 1 5/8 on the headers, the 3" tubing shouldn't cause you to lose any noticable low end tq over the 2.5"

Re: Another exhuast question!

You sure it wont cause any noticeabole decrease in torque? I have heard that more than the stock 2.25 is going to hurt torque a bit.. let alone 3".
Plus, I want a more solid, mean sound than what 3" would provide (dont want that hollow'y sound)
Shoud I still go w/ 3", or will I still get all the gains w/ 2.5"?
