iv been on the search for a car and now im going to check this one out.. 92 gta white, the probs they say is the head light motors are going out, driver side window motor is going out, and no radio.. its got 107xxx miles on it and costs $4000. he said he could do lit better on the price and he also said he could get a 4 month/ 4k miles war. just on the driveline. it is a real 5.7 but how do i check if its really a gta?thanks guys!!!later....

 

the best way would be to look up the vin #. i believe that gm kept track of the options that each car came with from 1990 on. a dealer may be able to tell you all about that particular car. that would probably be able to tell you whats original on the car and what has been added to it. also if you can locate the code sheet (sticker) on the car somewhere and write them down and look each one of them up that would give you the options that it came with. this is all aside from the obvious appearance of a gta. most likely if it truely has an orginal 5.7L tpi, the ground effects, badges (and i believe) the crosslace or diamond spoke 16 in. aluminum rims it probably is a gta. check with the guys at transamgta.com to see what they suggest.

and i believe the gta would have been an automatic and hardtop only option with the 5.7. only the formula came with t-tops and 5.7L i believe, but dont quote me on that one. hope this helps a little.

First, take the VIN to a dealership and have them give you a print out of the options. If you can find the SPI Label in the rear lock compartment though that will show you right there. Just look for Y84 and L98 to verify the 350.
