91 RS TBI Riser, what gives!!!

Hey guys I was sitting listening to a few older performance Mechs talk at a picnic I was invited to. We started talking about my 91 RS project and one of them mentioned that I may try to get a "riser" for the TBI. Said it works for that 0-60 mph take off. Is this just a myth or could I try it. I found a riser for my year and model RS. Tell me what you guys think.

I am assuming he meant a Throttle Body spacer, yes, they is a general agreement that they help on wet flow setups(carbs and TBI), but I have seen no real numbers
