Re: 90 iroc z value?

Depends on the mileage. Book is about 3400 dollars, but for a good car 4k seems reasonable.

Re: 90 iroc z value?

so is it worth getting a 90' iroc with t tops and repaint it, its for sale for 1200 cuz of small dents and stuff, and its rebuilt with 15k on new motor, or would i be better off buying a 86' 944 porsche for $700 and reapint that and sell it?

I'd say definitely go for it. 1990 IROC's go for over $3000 in good condition, finding one with a low-mileage rebuilt engine for $1200 isn't too shabby at all. I remember I bought mine for $1400 with 136,000 miles on it, and it needed some work, but it was a good buy.

Are you sure it's a 350? If it is it's not the original motor FYI.

350 cars have an 8 in the 8th position on the VIN.

I'm pretty sure they do not have any writing on the Engine, the 305TPI and 350TPI look exactly the same.
Not to sure about the 944 though.

Re: 90 iroc z value?

Look on the underside of the hood by the emission control label. It should say 5.7 or 5.0. If that sticker is removed, look on the inside of the center console box and amongst the RPO codes you should find L98 if its a 350 and I think LB9 if its a 305. If that sticker is gone as well, don't trust anything they tell you.

EDIT: I was wondering why you would think it was not a 350 but then I realized it was because of the T-tops. Check the above stated items anyway. While GM did not produce a 350 with T-tops (at least from 90-92 I think), sometimes you will find an original L98 car with T-tops as a dealer option. This is the case with my 91 Z28 anyway. It checks out as a 350 on the VIN, underhood label, and RPO but nowhere does it say anything about removeable glass roof.

Someone could have added the T-Tops after they purchased the car.

Actually the block will either have GM 5.7 or GM 5.0 cast into the block on the drivers side behind the head on the block where the trans and block bolt together.

Re: 90 iroc z value?

I have seen several factory 5.7 and factory t-top cars, but you guys are right, I never came across a 90-92 like that
