I would go with a different rear. 9bolt.com is like the only place to get the gears and the customer service is pitiful. I bought a set of gears from 9bolt.com last November. I really wanted a kit with a rebuilt posi because the new posi is 500.00 and is way too much $$. I was told that if I bought the gears now, when the kit becomes available I would get the kit price. First I was told it would be out by January 03 then February 03 and now after countless emails I am convinced I have been had. So I sold my gears that I really wanted to put in badly.. For what it would take to build a 9 bolt I would go with another configuration.

So are you saying they are out of stock on posis? I would just like the gears and the install kit, but it is a bit expensive. I think a 9" will probably be my only bet. It too is, however, expensive.
