so far ive replaced everything i can think of that is needed to start this POS, and it still selectively starts for me, totally unreliable

alternator
battery
ignition switch
ignition module
VATS w/ new key
starter
starter soleinoid

its defintily not the neutral safety switch

its a 305 TBI with auto


HELP i want to sell this thing but it needs to start for me

 

have u tryed startin it from the starter?.. i know my car sumtimes doesnt wanna start with the key. little jump from the start and she fires right up.. sum damn wireing problem

 

my mom had the same problem and what it was was a wire for the security(the little chip on the key) in the ignition was disconnected.

what does it do exactly tho? does it just turn over? do nothing?

did u do a tune up? maybe u did put the right SP cable to the right SP

 

thats the same problem i had when i put the aftermarket wheel on.. but it wasnt disconnect.. thats why i said try starting it by the starter.. if it starts then u know its a wireing problem

 

you don't say, does iit crank, just not start? or nothing?

 

does abosolutely nothing whatsoever. i already had the the ignition cylinder replaced so i know the wiring is good
