Hey guys, I have a question. I am very seriously considering buying an 82 Z 28 with a crossfire 305. It has a 200 tranny and it won't downshift. If you pull the shifter back by hand it will work but not on it's own. The main question I have is can I put a turbo 350 tranny in this car. The ultimate goal would be to go to a Borg Warner 4 speed, but I don't know if I can with the crossfire. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated

 

Sounds like someone made it manual valvebody so you have to shift. You should be able to put any tranny in you want. Borg warner 4 speeds came in carbed 82's so I would think it would fit. I have a stripped 82 TA with pedals and 4 speed where are you located? I might have a rock crusher with hurst shifter for sale also.
