80psi on my oil pressure, help!
Ok I had to change my valve covers from the high rise M/T ones I had to the stock TPI valve covers so I could use the 89-92 serpentine setup. There was an oil leak at the gasket so I changed the gaskets on the covers and that stopped the leak, however I added the oil till the dipstick said to stop and now the car runs at 60psi at idle and then 80psi during acceleration. Whats up with that? I'm not driving it as of right now till I figure it out because cant that high of an oil pressure damage the engine?

It won't damage the engine however it may force itself out some seals such as the rear main.
Don't rely on factory gauges. If in doubt, install a mechanical gauge to check the pressure.
If you're really worried about it, use a lighter grade of oil. If it's only high when the engine is cold but drops off as it warms up, don't worry about it. Change your PCV valve while you're at it. Maybe your crankcase pressure is high and it's being forced back into the oil galleries (not likely but you never know).

Well heres a little background and what I did earlier today. I have a 74 350 bored to a 358 in my 85 Camaro. Its fairly built and its got a large cam, Comp Cam 305H, 253@.50, and 525 lift int/exh. I have a mechanical gauge in my car right now thats why I was worried. I changed my oil as well putting in 5qts of 5W30. The car still runs a 60psi at idle with the 80psi on acceleration. I dont run a PCV valve either. What could cause this??

you should be running some kind of pvc setup. pvc one side vent the other. lowers crankcase pressure.

Well whatever the case... I ended up driving it down to University Ave (downtown Minnesota) for the back to the fifties show. Well the thing started out at 80psi, but then as I kept driving it fell back down to 60psi. Dont have a clue what that was about, but its where it should be now so I'm not going to complain.
