700r4 Question

Hi all ok im pretty sure im going to be swapping out my 700r4 for a T56 soon. But until then i need to get my tranny to work right

Im pretty sure its the cable thats messed but i thought i would run it past you guys first.

Basicly what its doing is i wont shift out of first gear until 4500 then wont shift out of second untile around 4000, Im hoping its an expensive problem so that i can just drop the 1500.00 on the t56 swap and be done with it but i have to make sure.

thanks for the help

Your tranny is shot. Buy a 6-speed.

Seriously though, it sounds like your TV cable is just a little too tight. On the throttle linkage you'll see the cable, it's the one on the bracket with the big fat black plastic part and the D-shaped button on one side. Push the bottun in (it's likely to be difficult) and then push the snout where the cable comes out ALL the way back into the housing. Then get in the car, ease the gas pedal all the way to the floor (engine off of course) and you're done.

If you are saying that the only time it will shift is at WOT?, and this happened all at once? Most likely it is the governor gear broken or stripped. Common.
