700r4 .500 boost valve

ive seen these advertised on ebay many times and i never really understood what they do. it says it increases line pressure. im guessing it does the same job as a shift kit, and produces firmer shifts. will this work well with a shift kit? i am also going to be installing a stiffer 1-2 accumulator spring, will all of these mods work well together?

I put one in my trans and didn't notice a difference in the shift. It did raise the line pressure about 15 - 20 psi if I remember right. It is different from a shift kit as a shift kit affects each gear individually, usually lessening the dampening that has been engineered into your trans. Most shift kits are designed to fill your clutches or band servos quicker. Higher pressure will not necessarily do this, it will help some but not as effectively as a shift kit. I think most shift kits offer a modification to your line pressure anyways. So you should probably spend the money on a shift kit first and see how it works for you. Good luck

If you already have it, put it in. It won't hurt anything and may help more than mine did.
