Anyone do this B 4?

I seen a 4th gen camaro in the j.yard and wondered.
Figured I ask. If so what to do with the cluster.
My 87 has the cable-drvn speedo. Not sure if
it would be EZ to convert to 4th gen speedo/gauges
or not.

Junp on over to thirdgen.org. go to the body anf interior section. you will see a lot of post about this swap. it can be done. I am in the process of doing it to my 91z28. If yo uhave a cable driven speedo you will need to buy a Dakota Digital SGI-5 box to convert the signal. The cluster wil need to be spliced into the 3rdgen harnes. I havent gotten that far yet. I hope its failry straighfoward though

I agree... I mean 4th gen seats I can see... they have better shape to them and nobody notices (for christ sakes they are seats!!!) but the consoles and dashes from 4th gens do NOT look good on a 3rd gen... I personally like the square dashes (I don't even think I have a z28 dash cuz it has no slant and I like it better, i think it suitst the rest of the car better) I mean if you want a 4th gen give me your 3rd gen and go buy one or steal one... otherwise PLEASE DO NOT try to make your 3rd gen into a 4th gen and PLEASE leave the curvy interior parts for a car that has a curvy interior

 

4th gen dashes look chinsey, I used to own one. I thought I was going to break it once, just changing the radio station. I dramatized a little on that one.

 

I have owned both 3rd gen camaros and a 4th gens. I am doing this swap because I want something different. Ive been looking at my style dash for almost 8 years now. Its time for a change. Its my opinion that the newer dash looks better too. But hey, thats me.

 

how bout you mail the old dash to me... I can find it a good home..
