400 small block

I am building a 406 and my camaro has a T5 in it. What flywheel do I use with this? I an also thinking of goin to a T56, what flywheel for this one. I have tried may searches but havent found the answer. I know some body has put a 400 or 383 in there manual cars. This is a basic stock 400, just wanted the extra cubes.

thanks

yes.

And you need the externally balanced flywheel. There is a balance piece you can buy that you put on with a regular flywheel so you can use it with the 400, but if you are going to have to get another one to fit the T5 just buy one for a 400 that is externally balanced.

Actually don't get the 400 flywheel, they are apparently alot of money and the balancing plate is like 35 bucks and it will allow you to use any sbc flywheel, this is a much better Idea because you can have the option of using alot more flywheels for different trannys and they are almost always cheaper.

I don't know if this will help but I know the LT1 T56 flywheels are externally balanced also.
