3rd gen vs 4th gen

How similar are the suspensions? Are any parts related? Struts, shocks, sway bars, torque arm?

Everything in the rear except the springs are interchangeable - shocks, LCAs, sway bars, torque arm, panhard... even the entire rear axle. The front ends are completely different and nothing swaps over without major fabrication.

The rear springs are the same too.
Rear housing and axles are about 2" wider per side.

Are you sure about the springs? I was told they had different spring pockets and wouldn't swap over. My sisters 94 Firebird spring pockets do look different. Never actually tried swapping though...

And the 4th gen rear is 3" wider than the 3rd gen. The 4" wider thing is a big misconception around here. I measured my 85 rear and the 02 rear I put in - exactly 3" difference. My rear tires also tuck in a little further than they used to.
