I wouldnt think it would be any differnt from supercharging any LT1. I would just check the forced induction forum, there should be tons of guys in there with sc'ed Lt1s.

The only issue I would see if clearances (probably not a problem though). You've got basically a 4th gen powertrain so it should react all the same.

Well to warn you lt1's and supercharger's have had a bad relationship. No more then 4.5-6psi for boost. Remeber the lt1 has a high compression ratio. Not forced friendly

Why would you go the the trouble of bolting on a supercharger on stock internals anyway. Just swap in some dished pistons. Problem solved.

thanks i already asked in forced induction and no body can help me

as for my motor i have a hotcam motor on a set of worked stock castings

i was already thinking of pulling it out and swapping my all forged 355 shortblock in there BTW my dad just disassembled his motor for a 396 and i am taking the top half of the motor

and i dont think that i will have a problem of running boost on a set of 8.5:1 pistons

I've seen plenty of people run 8-11PSI on stock LT1 bottom ends through ProCharger intercooled kits and have the engine last for a decent amout of time Frezza ran his ProCharger kit for 3 years with no problems.

Darth, Now you know us car "folk" can't just "swap in" dished pistons. We'd end up doing a stroker, serious heads/cam, etc. Boost on a stock bottom end rules. it's why we do it. it's cheaper than pulling an engine for a full rebuild.

Exactly, thats why I would be all about pulling the engine, it would give me the oppoirtunity to play around more.

To hell with being conservative Im gonna go till I exhaust my resources. Then I start cutting corners.

I have first hand experience with attempting to install a supercharger on a LT1 in a 3rd Gen.

I had an ATI P600B for a 4th Gen LT1 car that I attempted to install in my car. It will NOT work. The head unit bolts onto the engine where the 3rd Gen steering box/frame rail is.

I sold the blower kit to someone on the board here (slimdawson), who also has a 3rd Gen LT1. I told him it won't fit, but he's STILL working on it, like 1.5 years later.

Maybe if you have custom brackets fabricated to install the blower in a different location (the top of the engine) it may work, but even then it's not going to be easy.

Sucks...it's a real PITA.

If you ran the corvette bracket and got a Corvette SC setup, it may work easier since the SC is on the pass side.
