383 oil pan

383 oil pan

my crank is hitting my oil pan what should i do.

are you sure its hitting the pan? Are you talking about a baffle in the pan? If its just the baffle, you can modify(beat it down) till it stops hitting

i was hitting the baffle but i cut a bit of it out then it was hitting in two different spots on the pan lip.so i heated and beat them in so its all ok now so thanks for your input aron213

There's no reason why a 400 crank won't fit in a standard oil pan.

yeah, I ahd a stock oil pan and a moroso, both do NOT hit my crank nor my conencting rods

this does happen once in a blue moon. an easy fix is to use the one piece rubber steel shimmed gasket.

some of the aftermarket "cheap" pans do it....
