I have a 350 tbi out of a 88 chevy truck, i want to put it in my 88 camaro that came with a 305 tbi, do i need to change the computer and if i do could i just order a jet chip for a 350 and install it in place of the 305 chip. Any input or advice is welcome.. Thanks

 

I can not tell ya but I was going to try it and see what happens.I had a chiped ecu that bypass's vats so I was going to use that if the 9C1 tbi ecu didnt work.

when i did my swap many years ago i changed the spark timing control to a 5.7 and got a chip for a 5.7 and it ran purrrfect even with the small cam i had

 

check out the TBI board at www.thirdgen.org it has tons of information about this swap. Yes you will need at least a new chip for the computer in order for it to run decent.

 

been there done that.. the wiring is the same just use the computer for the 350. it will plug right up. (if the truck was auto) If you don't have the computer yes changing the chip will work, because the computer it's self is the same. And the guy about the vats. The 88 camaro and the 89 truck didn't have vats.
