Re: 305 carb to 350 carb

not sure.. but is it a stock carbed engine on both sides? (IE both using the quardrajet carb?) If one is a completely stock engine, and the other is running like a holley or what not. Then there are a few things to replace (search for CC to non-CC swap over on third gen) disty's are different and so on.. if both of them are going to run the CC carb, then perhaps the only thing is the computer to be re programmed /replaced? in order to work more efficently with the 350 so it does not lean out.

but to really give a good idea, people would need to know the details on both engines.

No need for details, if they are both Q-Jets they are both the same size carbs. There are only two size Q-Jets, an 735 and a 800 cfm. The 800s were generally used on big blocks and a very few small block applications.

the details would inquire on what type of setup each engine is.. and then you would need a pcm flash since it is computer controlled and i am sure they use different programs. if both of them are different setups (IE both not running the quardrajet carb) then things get a little harder on what you need. I mean.. he would like a definite answer and i am sure would hate to have any stupid minor surprises

Re: 305 carb to 350 carb

Yes computers are typically associated with fuel injected motors...however. The stock q-jets on most of the thirdgens were computer controlled. There weren't a LOT of things they managed, but swapping engines might still require a small bit of modification.

When I did mine, the only thing I had to change was the distributor. Either way, carb to carb, it's no big deal to do the swap. Good luck!
