305 bogging

My 305 carbuerated 4bbl engine is bogging / cutting out. It really does it if you quickly take a corner or mash on the gas pedal to the floor. I put new plugs, wires, fuel filter, coil, distributer cap and rotor on and it still does it. I thought maybe it was the stock carb acting up but the car doesn't smoke or anything, maybe it the timing or the distributor itself.
Any IDEAS?
Thanks.

Bogging like this is amost always caused by accellerator pump failure. I would look there first, i.e. time to rebuild the carb.

i would agree with the carb rebuild. My LG4 didn't bog very much at all, because from what I understand the previous owner had it rebuilt a little while before I owned it. Also an open element wouldn't be a bad 30-50 dollar investment if you haven't already done that. I know my L03 did feel quicker and had faster throttle response after I installed mine.

It may be the fuel pump, too. Anyway, be glad you are not fuel injected! Replacing their parts is VERY expensive compared to a $50 fuel pump or $150 carb rebuild bill

I'm looking more towards timing and possibly your coil. We installed a brand new accel coil on my friends car and it ran like crap at WOT and when you got on it. We could not figure it out. Ended up being a shot coil. We installed an old *** '70's coil and it ran mint.

yeah that's a good possibility, are all of your wires, i guess working right, as in no cuts, burns, shorts etc... but i do think with 86k on an almost 20 year old car a carb rebuild would be a fairly decent idea.
