I agree that you should just shop around for a v8 car. my 87 Z28 I just bought cost me $1500 with a really nice 305. yes 305, it still managed to smoke an LT1 4th gen so dont start with the 305 smack talk ;P

How much work did you have done on that 305, or was the LT1 driver just really bad.

Hey guys, what about swapping out a 2.8 for a 3.4 in a front wheel drive? I was reading this thread, and I have a 1988 Pontiac 6000 s/e, 2.8 FI. If the engine dies, is the 3.4 pretty much a direct bolt in?

The 3.4 for the camaro has the starter on the wrong side to use in fwd. A better choice would be a 3100 or 3400 fwd engine. The heads and the induction system is improved also. Some have even swapped the fwd 3800 engine.
