1985 IROC for $500.00
Lightweight for me means:
No power, windows, locks, or seats
No rear defrost
No Air conditioning system, just a heater box (factory)
No t-tops
No power steering (my doing, not factory)
Fiberglass hood
No rear seats
No sound absorbing material
No speakers
No "radio"
No 10 friggin pound dinosaur computer and wiring harness
No power accessories on engine except alternator
Aluminum radiator
Aluminum heads (soon!)
No pollution stuff
No spare tire
No jack
No fuel injection, just a carb, this may or may not weigh less
Also, battery relocated to rear of car. It was originally a V6 car, however I did buy an 87 IROC parts car for all of $400. It is complete and runs, but the body basically a turd. Perfect for scavenging parts.
I'm led to believe I can get the car under 3200 lbs pretty easily. To me, that is fairly light. If you think I'm wrong, please let me know.
Of course the car IS NOT going to be a daily driver, just a toy.

my car is a 83 lg4 z28 carburated with similar "POWER NOTHING" which i really like better casue its lighter and less stuff to break.
i havent done those reductions on my car and i have a/c and radio and all the other stock stuff but i should still be lighter then the guys with all the other power junk.
anyway under 3200 sounds good
on my tittle for the car it says vehicle weight is something like 3270 i think? that sound too light for my car?

the weight on the title is almost dead on with the actual weight... atleast for my iroc and my '67. took them to the track and weighed them to see how close it was to the weight on the title and it was off by a few lbs. pretty close if you ask me
lol, i was blessed with a 3600 lb beast (with me in the car) because it was a full optioned 1990 IROC-Z with an L98... ever option you can think of is on my car, except for T-Tops... but even then i dont think the 1990 5.7's came t-top from what i've read. wish i could take out some of the crap that came in the car i dont need, so i guess ill start taking crap out when i have some time, lol
