1984 Z28

A buddy is thinking of buying an 84 Z28.

"Mods are as follows:

Edelbrock headers, with smog tubes ( Cost 500 bucks from what i was told )
Edelbrock Y pipe with a highflow cat. runs 3 inch from the cat to the muffler, which exits with 2 1/2 inch exhaust out of the muffler.
The muffler is an Edelbrock RPM Series true flow muffler.
Has a Turbo-350 with a shift kit.
Motor is a 350 .30 over stock internals as far as I know, has about 12,000 miles on it.
Has a mild Edelbrock cam, not sure on the specs.

Other stuff.
Has new coil springs, shocks, and other suspension under it.
Interior is black except for the seats, and carpet.
Has pretty cold A/C, heat works excelent."

Is $1800 a decent deal?

Adduming everything checks out ok, compression, oils, et, etc, it doesn't sound too bad a deal.

Re: 1984 Z28

yeah no oil leaks at all. valve seals need to be replaced but thats not hard at all. all of the internals are stock spec hypereutectic and the heads are stock with stock replacement manifolds used, so compression is stock.

How is the compression and leakdown test coming along? If the fluids like tranny are brand spanking new, I worry that someone is trying to hide something.

Havent done either. We know exactly where he lives and he's lived there his entire life. Id think if he were trying to hide something that he'd come right out and tell us.
As far as we know, the a/c needs recharging and the valve seals need replacing. We were going to add bigger rockers anyways so valve seals would be hard to replace.

Anything else to lok for? A compression test would definitely be run before he bought the car.
