I am trying to help a friend put some 17x11s on his '85 Iroc. After a search I came up with a lot of people swapping the 4th gen rear ends in and then just slapping the 50mm ZR1 wheels on.
My question is, if you use the 36mm ZR1 wheels and the stock rear with the stock spacer will it work?

 

 

Cars with drum brake (that didn't have the aluminum drum option) got a small spacer (1/8" or so) on the rear axle to keep the wheels in the right place relative to the axle. I'm guessing that he is talking about those spacers?
