Hot Rod put a 305 Z28 in the 12's back in the early 80's. I think you've got a shot at doing it too.

Several guys over on thirdgen.org running 12s on motor, and 11s on juice with 305s. Not sure of their level of modding though...

I think you might just pull it off with that setup. Hell, even if you do make it, get a supercharger I think there's a moderator over at thirdgen.org that just has a supercharger on his daily driver and he's in the 11s.

Technically, not yet. But it will happen soon. I'll be making the following changes. Actually, done one already:

1) Cogs replacing my 12-rib setup,
2) F1 replacing my D1SC, &
3) 3.23's replacing my 3.73's

I think this is about as modded as im gonna get on the 305. I also have an 89 rs with t-tops that im putting a 4 bolt main 350, ported vortec heads, big valves, and a procharger p-1sc centrifical supercharger (or the "air conditioner" for the mustang guys )with the carbuereted setup. Hopefully that will be in the 12's heh heh hehhhh......

Anything is possible. I've seen a 305 run 11.70s here, it was damn impressive.

i was checking out baddest305's car... i pretty much have the same setup he does, except hes got a slightly smaller cam, 3.73's instead 4.10's, and a 3500 stall th-350, i have a 2400 stall 700r4. lets see, what else, i believe hes running 9.5:1 compression, not that much different than me, oh and the biggest diference, he has 305 torquer heads w\ 1.94 int, and 1.50 exh., i have the factory heads w\ 1.60 exh. I wonder how much difference that makes? Stock ported heads vs. 305 torquer heads? He claims a 13.0 sec pass n\a. The only thing im worried about is the factory suspension and factory axles (28 spline). I might have to get some LCA's, some relocation brackets, and some new mosers.
