Unhappy damaged gears

i have a bw 9 bolt australian rear end in my car, and somebody told me to go to 9bolt.com so i went there and i noticed that they have damaged gear pretty cheap, it not real bad damage maybe just a chipped tooth or two, i was wondering if those would still work alright if i bought them, or if i should just buy new ones!

The metal near the chips could have stress risers radiating from it. Under pressure, these could grow and cause a larger failure. Having gears installed is not cheap, and the cost of a failure during operation could be severe. Is it worth the risk to save a few bucks? Not IMO.

If I was you, I would not use those damaged gears with chipped gear teeth. Unless you plan on getting rid of your car in the near future. Then it might be a cost effective way to go. My opinion.

What they said. Especially since 9-bolt gears are more expensive.
