Oh my ears hurt, stop YELLING.

You can change the speed limiter with a custom prom or you can rig a toggle switch on the wire that provides the signal from the speed sensor. I don't recommend the toggle switch method, it shuts off the speedo and speed reading in the computer and may have some adverse affects that I don't know about.

Now since you got 130 MPH out of that TBI RS it make some sense. Is that why you have a 4th Gen LT1 car in your signature on a 3rd Gen Board. Those TBI's don't last long at those speeds.

A drunk ran an intersection and killed it, It only had 40,000 miles on it.

But yes 160mph is alot more fun!

I bounced my TBI305 off the 115 limiter a few times driving from Orlando to Birmingham (used to do that twice a month) when it was bone stock. Of course, I blew a head gasket after about 8 months.....but that's totally unrelated. It came in handy as a real good excuse to build a 355.

When I bought a new memcal for my MAP conversion I bout a 1992 TPI 305 Memcal and it also had a speed limiter set at 115mph.

So not only the TBI cars got speed limiters.

Find someone that will burn a chip for you, it'll only take ~2 mins to get rid of that speed limiter. $5-10 for chip + 2 min time at $$/hr = 12 pack of beer. I'll do it if you find a blank chip.

Mine went that fast stock and it was an automatic.

Now mine does 115 in the 1/4 I thought that was what the post was about. Anyway, that is why I am in the process of findind an affordable front brake kit.

All nice numbers (in your dreams) for STOCK 305 TBI's with the weak horsepower & torque they put out. So quit Dreaming you have 350 power numbers.
