Question is .045 to much of a gap on my Rapidfires????

Hi guys,

I am going to be putting plugs and wires on my 1988 GTA with the 305 TPI. Is gapping them at .045 to much? Its fairly stock except for a TB bypass,Hypertech cap and rotor and coil and air foil and a catback and a CAI. Thanks for your help.

Thumbs up

Yes, 0.045" is correct. Delco knows the factory spec is .035" but Rapidfires are made to run with a larger gap. I spoke with a tech there and he told me NOT to change the gap. I haven't had any probs and I just have a stock ignition system.
