Red face 4 to 8 Cylinder Quick Fix

One of these days I'll learn how to get around on this site. Anyway, can someone tell me how to over ride the system that keeps changing the 4 to 8 cylinder run as the speed increases or decreases. With aftermarket exhaust, it sounds quite crappy. With the stock exhaust, you couldn't hear it. I don't care anything about 4 cylinder economy or I would have saved $$$$$$$ and bought the LS or LT with a V6. I'm thinking that this shouldn't be to hard to change up.

Thanks ahead of time for any answers,

You would need to find a tuner to tune the AFM out. I am not sure if any of the aftermarket companies like Hypertech or Diablo, etc. have a kit out there for our cars yet,

What exhaust are you running? It is more noticable on mine but not anything I can't live with. I lie the extra economy it gives me while cruising in town or on the highway. Kinda makes me feel better about punchin it

Me? Stock for now, but I will go aftermarket myself. Haven't zeroed in on which one yet, but I will also be getting a tune that either eliminates the AFM or makes it not activate as easily.

if AFM is such a big deal to you, maybe you should've bought an LS3 car instead of an L99?

ouch
I'm guessing, if he's like me, he knows the automatic and engine in this car probably have more potential than the LS3/M6 combo. If they can get this VVT thing ironed out in this car, the performance gain with the right cam will be staggering.

it would be cool to have a 3 position switch. 4-cylinder/AFM/8-cylinder.
