Re: 2015 z28 question
What are the last six digits of the VIN? If it's 000003, then you might have something.
No idea on value, but if it really is #3, it might be the first ever sold to the public. IIRC GM auctioned off the first two to collectors for charity when the car was released.
EDIT: I forgot that the first year for the fifth gen Z28 was 2014, not 2015. It was the first 2014 car that was auctioned off (to Rick Hendrick, for $650k; he later sold it at Barrett Jackson for $500k). If you have 2015 car #3, I don't think it'll be of much if any more value than any Z28.

Re: 2015 z28 question
This doesn't seem right. The last four numbers should be the serial number. My 15 Z is 00357 which would indicate that it is the 357th Z28 built for 2015. Your number would indicate that it was the 9003rd car built, except they only built around 2500 for 15. Are you sure it's a Z28 and not a ZL1?

Re: 2015 z28 question
Your car is one of 4 CTF cars for 2015 - those were GM display cars or for press or GM employees to drive etc. There were also 69 CTF cars for 2014. All the CTF cars have Vin's that start with 699 - all production cars have Vin's starting with 700 - in my case 700934. Before the 700 or the 699 is a 9 and before that is a letter E or F - E for 2014 cars and F for 2015 cars.
From a GM employee re: CTF; CTF stands for Captured Test Fleet and were the quality evaluation vehicles. These Z/28s were assigned to company car drivers who passed the high performance driving class at the Milford Proving Grounds. There were a total of 69 Manufacturing Validation Build vehicles built for the 2014 model year. The CTF vehicles were a part of this group but marketing, power train and others had vehicles assigned to them. The low mileage vehicles were mostly from marketing. These vehicles were built just before start of regular production and included all production intent parts. My CTF vehicle had over 12,000 miles on it before I turned it in but I drove to Oshawa almost every week during the builds.
So in my case a 2015 - F9700934 is end of my VIN. In your case I would guess your VIN ends with F9699003.
In 2014 there were 69 CTF cars and 440 production cars - with 436 selling through dealers - Car # 1 & 2 being auctioned by GM and 3 & 4 going into the GM museum. In 2015 they made 4 CTF cars and 1,288 production cars.
Total production of 1,728 + 73 CTF Cars for total production of 1,801 Z/28's start to finish.
Enjoy your car - it is one of four - but when your foot is flat on the floor you won't really car about that will you?

Re: 2015 z28 question
Kevin, congrats on owning a CTF Z/28! I am maintaining a registry for the 2014/2015 Z/28s and would like to document your car. I have already seen 2015 CTFs #1, and #4, just need to find the #2 car. I will also PM you in hopes of making contact.
