I drive without one. It is not legal, but a 4th gen looks heinous with a front plate. I've gotten it inspected four times w/o a front plate, and I don't drive like a maniac.

It is a crime to put a front plate on a nice new car. I kept my plate on the pass seat and if I got pulled over I had it on the passenger side of the dash when he got to the car. (07 GT500) I never got written for it just lectured. They were more interested in looking it over. Drilling two holes in an aerodynamic virgin surface like that is like being stuck with a goyter on the tip of your nose.
