Guessing the inability of anyone letting go of tying "Smokey and the Bandit" to the name Firebird and/or Trans Am.

It HAS been 30 years now, and as much as I like 70s era Trans Ams and even the movie, it seems a little silly plastering Burt Reynolds picture on every Firebird drawing.

I don't see anyone bringing up "Vanishing Point" as justification in bringing back the Challenger or "Charlie's Angels" as a selling point for the current retro Mustang.

I think it's sad, but every single firebird and T/A chop has looked better to me then the actual 5th gen.

Its amazing to me how people are still trying assail unassailable logic.

Even if GM ignored the bank book and reason and decided to bring Firebird back it would be nothing more than an arrowhead on the front of Camaro, and cost more.

Then they would be right back on the board posting about how GM abandoned them.

Maybe they'll start plastering Knight Rider on there instead

I have noticed that it seems like people think of the firebird in terms of retro-kitsch for whatever reason.

The Oshawa plant rumour for a Pontiac version of the Camaro. GM will be using letters and numbers for there Pontiac Version. Example G6, G8.

Thats why T/A owners are the but of jokes? I loved Smokey and the Bandit as a kid. I thought the "but of the joke" was refering to Winding Road being the but of the jokes and that we may have had a Winding Road Journalist posting...

You know for a company that is as adimant about seat belts, it is a little odd that Burt Reynolds who was on a Muscle car show asking Goldberg "You dont need a seat belt do ya?"

Not bashing anyone, I just thought it was just one of those ironic things seeing that Burts movies helped sell the most F bodies ever.
