This strayed from talking about the 5th Gen a long time ago.

I agree with what a few others have said, the person that started this childish crap should take it to the lounge.

Not every lt1 runs the same, some people actually do the proper maintenance to there cars as well. My lt1 has always been a strong runner, or as most like to call it a freak. Talk all the **** you want it beats high 12 second cars on the street, you know that thing called the real world?

I dont see what your deal is, you only make yourself look like a *** talking **** about a car you know nothing about.
I know a lot more about it than you seem to man. How am I a magazine racer? Look at a list of the fastest LS2 GTOs compiled over at LS1GTO.com, from the owners. Guess what, many of them are in the 12s, bone stock, and well over 106mph. Sorry, your old *** LT1 would get stomped, even with headers and a CAI. No chance in hell of you hanging with a LS1 fbody either, unless the driver sucks.

Like I stated earlier, you beat the car, not the driver. You know, in the real world the car can only go as fast as the driver is skilled, and you beat crappy drivers. Get over it. Can't believe how much this thread ballooned in a few days.

Pretty scientific there. Laying down insults like "magazine racer", and yet you yourself use this **** poor logic to determine how fast your car is.

Face it dude, you are wrong, and you don't know as much as you think you do about racing.

Why would your car not pass tech? Can't afford a helmet? Oh, I forgot, you have a 12 second beast there.

No douche, due to the fact my Y pipe is disconnected from the cat-back. With the cat back not being bolted up i wouldn't pass.

BTW suck my ***.

Considering i've never lost to 13 second car from a dead stop i'de say yeah its not to bad of a way. I dont know about you but i dont drive on the track to get to work. I drive around on the street where my car more then holds its own for a daily driver with 162k on it, not on the track.

My car is not your average header and cai lt1. If it was i wouldnt be roll patrolling bolt on stage 2 srt4's, but quess what i do, and i stomp stock ls1's. So eat my ***.

Your also one of the idiots who drives to the cars limit on the freeway so whenever you pass any car I guess your racing and beating it at the same time?

If you think nfs or you think f&f when you think street racing then your a dolt with no clue. I see 9 second cars run on the street i quess they where built by 14 year olds that play nfs.....

Dynos don't lie (usually), GM often does... Your average dead stock LT1 dynos around 240-250 rwhp, some higher, I don't recall any healthy ones hitting lower numbers off hand. If you do the math w/ a 15-18 percent driveline loss estimate depending on tranny and such you're looking at dead on at 300 hp if not more. 275-285 was underrated, they were making right at the same 300hp as the Vette LT1s much like the LS1 Fbodies really made very very similar power to the LS1 Corvettes...

Re: Will the 5th Gen V6 be quicker than the LT1?!?

I have no doubt a 300 HP 5th gen V6 could run with an LT1. Of course it wouldn't have the torque down low like the LT1, but in a 1/4 mile race it doesn't really matter that much since the engine spends maybe 2 seconds below 3K and the rest at higher RPM. As stated by Threxx and others, many newer family sedans are running bottom 14's with 300 HP V6's. Even if a bone-stock LT1 could edge out a Maxima by a fender I'd call it essentially even in my book.

Great response.

You know, if you really wanted to go to the track, and stop being an internet poser, you could easily install a new exhaust system.

When do you actually see 9 second cars on the street? I never have. Is this on your way to work everyday? Do they have a cage and chute? They are probably going to at least need a cage to run that time without getting booted. A 9 second is not going to hook on the street at all. I have seen a legit 9 second car on the street too, but he was just driving it around for show, and there was no doubt in my mind it was as he claimed, unless he spent all the money on safety stuff just to convince everyone of his claims.

You drive around on the street, where there are too many variables to know just how fast your car actually is.
