QFT. Yes, the ZR1 is more powerful but will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 pounds lighter.

I'm guessing what you see for fuel mileage out of the GT500 is what you'll see out of the Z28.....

The 2007 CTS-V was 15/24.

there was no cts-v for 2008.

anyways... i saw that a 2005 was 15/23 on the sticker.. there is still one new around here.

Anyways... i read that the weight is 1700kg (3748lbs) even with a 52/48 distribution... that can get lowered with a few things here to around 3650 which is not all that bad.

Hm... i guess it will grow on me... 500lbs less than what i expected is REALLY nice.

You expected 4248 lbs?

And there is debate on whether the 3748 is for the V6 or the V8. Let's hope it is the V8.

I dont think the weight is that bad, My second gen car is a sled My third gens were light and I never got around to getting a 4th gen and decided to just wait for the 5th gen.

If that is the weight for the v-8 I will have 0 reservations on getting this car I hope this car sell well and is around for a very long time.

That 3748 is just a conversion from the "over 1700 kg" mentioned in Cartribe. I'm thinking that this "over 3748 pounds" is for the base V6.

I don't think there will be as big a weight difference between the V6 and V8 as the Mustang has. DOHC V6 vs pushrod V8, both have 6 speeds, both have 8.3 rears, both have dual exhaust. I bet we're looking at a 100lb difference.

I know its the conversion.. but why can't we dream its 1700kg... at least it will go down 13s with a 416HP and not 14s.

I decided to stop being lazy and check it myself.

The 2007 CTS-V is rated at 14/22 using the 2008 methods. Compare that to the G8 GT at 15/24.

www.fueleconomy.gov has this stuff.

That's what I'm thinking too. If the V8 were "just over 1700kg", then the V6 would presumably under 1700kg, at which point the comment would be incorrect.

The 6sp V8 model is supposed to be 3877, IIRC.

I could live with that for the v8 but I suspect you are right. This is a really nice looking car with a killer engine package that is ruined by being over weight Im afraid. It wont to any good to cry about it but its sad for me.

Ill wait until Monday and hope Im wrong. The Gt mustang weights in about 150 lbs more than the v6 so that puts us at around 3900 lbs. Maybe I will be surprised.

Keep in mind that the v6 is 4v/cyl and the v8 is a 2v. so the engine could be comparable in size.

Apart from being DI with a few other goodies that the v8 does not need.
