I wonder if they know that they don't have a real HEMI...

I am pretty sure that is what the vehicle weighs, considering it says curb weight, and not gross vehicle weight.

Yeah, I was wondering if anyone else had remembered that.

Hmmm at first I was thinkin Bugatti Veyron. But it has 1001hp so thats cool. No wonder DCX put the 425hp in it for the concept. Its gonna need all the power it can get. About that post on the C6 and Charger SRT8. The Charger stands no chance in hell! Sorry but the Vette is so much lighter and all around a performance machine.

Spend some time on a mopar forum, and see what I mean. According to some, the Challenger is the second coming of Christ, that will destroy Ford GT's and Ferrari's.
Oh dear God no please... How DARE those Mopar nuts get excited over a car they like!

Hero worship? Like the Camaro is getting here?

Get over it. The 09 Camaro is no lightweight. We love the Camaro, it doesn't mean everyone else should be thumbing their noses at a car they like so they can join you and adopt your opinion. I happen to like both the Camaro and the Challenger. Newsflash: BOTH cars are going to be heavy *** pigs.

Do we really need to pull out the ol' gems from BBC?

I especially loved this one, where he goes toe-to-toe in an "inside Camaro" knowledge match with Scotty S.

No. I think they're being quiet because they don't have jack squat in the pipeline. That would be the MOST LIKELY reason.
"Nothing in the pipeline" is most obviously suggested by the CAD drawings of the chassis.

We don't know that for sure. I am expecting the new Camaro to be in the new Mustang's weight range, model-for-model. No, not "lightweight", but no Camaro should EVER weigh over 2 tons. Period.

With big wheels and the sizes mentioned, I could definitely see a fully loaded convertible going over 4000 pounds. In fact, I've heard of 4th Gen verts that did.

Wheels will be 19/20's right? I'd like to have 18's all around myself with some taller rubber and if that means aftermarket for me, so be it. In addition, the weight loss nuts out there can always shell out 5 grand for a set of aftermrket HREs or something light . Loosing unsprung weight will help both handling and straightline acceleration / braking too. Loosing sprung weight is more difficult than just swapping out your wheels.

The concept had huge dubs and wheel openings to match... nothing says GM can't shrink the size of the wheel openings a little bit and /or go with taller more practical rubber, so that some 19s or 20s will look fine. Will be interesting to see how this aspect of the car changes come production time.

And to further the Hemi - bash, they're so damn in-efficient that they need 2 spark plugs per cylinder just to ignite the fuel !!!

... I'm sure my LS1, A4 w/4.10 gears is more fuel efficient .

I still don't know how DCX managed to f*** up the Hemi. They had a perfect model to use *cough**cough* LS1.
