Sorry, but I really need to rant for a moment...
You know what's really funny about this entire thread??!
I created a thread (the "Homework") thread that simply asked members to relate their own experiences with dealers in their area over their tactics over the Camaro.
It was an innocent effort to judge if the dealer scalping that was taking place here in the San Francisco bay area was unique.
The thread garnered some responses (and even named dealers) that were treating the Camaro as another new car, without big schemes or big markups.
But... because of pressure from outside from GM who's opinion was that dealers should be free to charge what the market will bear, there are no tools whatsoever to influence dealers, and that the public should simply buy elsewhere... got that thread closed.
Yet.....
Here we are....with a thread.... whose posts are nothing but dealer rip-off stories. Far more in both number and severity than were posted on the thread I started.
And at least I asked for factual first hand stories, and explained why... and kept an open mind and was genuinely looking (or hoping) for favorable stories and mentioned my belief that Chevrolet dealers as a whole were far more reasonable than my experience with Pontiac dealers.
Just goes to show you....
....if something IS an issue, I guess you simply can't sweep it under the rug and try to make it go away.

When I contacted Ebay about the two or 3 2006 Camaros that were posted for sale using the concept, at least a few made it to the end of the sale but the sale was canceled anyway. Im not a lawyer but I would assume that would make the sale non binding and the bidder probably notified as to why. It was work on my part to review the policies and contact Ebay but the pay off making them aware to look out for it was worth it and have those sales canceled.
Just one suggestion, or possibility if we want.
