It's the same reason I don't expect the passenger seat to have power. If it DID.. then
1) Moving it forward/back to allow passengers in would be a bitch. those things are slow... Keep in mind i've never seen a driver seat with a rear release **** (which on a manual seat, flings the seat forward and pushes the back forward as well)
2) Drivers need to be able to see over the dash, touch the pedals, etc. Passengers just need to sit there. They DON'T need to see over the dash. So they don't need controls like that.
Also, I believe a good advantage of power seats is that they go back a bit further (I think maybe an inch or so?) I don't remember where I heard this, but I believe someone has said it.

) I've noticed that while the manual drivers comes with a 'pump action' to raise the seat, I don't feel it is as reliable as a powered seat. For me, if the power goes out and the seat is stuck in position, that's okay. But if I have the manual, and it breaks, I'm afraid it will fall down in position, leaving me peering over the dash!

My leather seats in the GTP are much more comfortable than the cloth ones that I could have gotten. I will never have a car without leather now, and I don't see myself buying any $50,000+ cars in the future.
Re: power passenger seat....
I absolutely dont want the weight of a p. pass seat . My passenger will have to go thru the extreme agony of moving a lever . How primitive
As far the weight goes , I was floored at the weight of the power seats in all my 4th gens , so much so that I replaced them with manual seats . If I remember right , a manual was 28lbs and a 6 way power 4th gen Z28 seat was 47'ish lbs , and the bloated TA seats were in the neighborhood of 52 lbs . a pop .
I will take the HID though . I do ALOT of night driving and once you go HID , it hard to go back to normal yellow looking headlights . I retrofitted HID in my Cobalt , and thought there wasnt gonna be as great a difference as there was . Visability in the wet is better 10 fold . Even cheap cars like the Ford Focus has it as on option nowadays , with totally different projector headlight housings . Plus nearly every car that will compete with the sedans build off the Camaro chassis either have HID as on option or is standard ...so yeah , I definately wanna see it as a option at least .
