power passenger seat....

not important, Scott.

HIDs on the other hand....they would make a killer option, especially with a projector setup.

Re: power passenger seat....

I'm not real crazy about power seats myself. All the ones i have tried have been very slow. i get impatient moving the seat back and forth, especially if its a car you share with somebody. I guess the upside to power seats is the "snob" factor, just so you can tell somebody you have power seats.

Re: power passenger seat....

I would disagree.
I prefer power seats b/c I can set it to the exact position I'm comfortable with. And I HATE when I'm paying for a "power seats" option and I get ONE power seat. My friends GXP is like that too and it's the one thing I think is stupid. I'd much rather have two power seats then HID's myself (although I feel a projector light is a must at least for the low beam ala GTO).

Per seat? I don't think so. I'll drag the bathroom scale out the garage and weigh 'em if I have to.

Dual power seats would be nice, but I can see where lots of people might not want them...personally I would want it, but, a much more important option for me would be HID's.....PLEASE offer HID's

No thanks for me either.

It's not the cost, it's the weight. If NOT having power seats saves me...oh, say...40 lbs, I'd rather have the weight savings.

But that's for MY car. And I think Scott knows what that is. OTOH, I can see my wife having a different version of that car with power seats. But NOT for my car.

Re: power passenger seat....

No thank you. I'm not to the point where I'm too lazy to move the seat if I have to. Besides, my wife and I are the same height so I don't have to move the seats much.

I have no problem with it being part of a "I got everything including the kitchen sink" package but don't include it in a package that includes PW/PL keyless entry. Those are all of the options I want.

SS only?

Re: power passenger seat....

While a power seat is not mandetory IMO, I have to say that the power seat in my 95 Z/28 is by far the most reliable I've ever encountered. I weigh about 280lbs, and I've never had a problem with the power seat in my Camaro. As long as I can adjust my seat all the way back and all the way down, then I'll be happy. If the manual seat doesn't adjust vertically, then power is the only option for me. However, my passenger can suffer with a manual seat.

Doug, 70lbs? Are you serious? I would think it would be closer to 10lbs max.

Re: power passenger seat....

The other nice thing about power seats is when you have more than one driver you can have memory settings tied to the key fob.

But aside from that, if you're the only driver they don't get much real use.

Re: power passenger seat....

The real benefit of power seats is the ability to adjust the height and angle of the seat.

And I doubt they weigh 40 pounds.

Re: power passenger seat....

I'd like to have the ability to pass on the power seats and not get stuck with them on higher option packages. My 5th gen will be loaded up with all kinds of options because it will be my daily. The power seat motors went bad in my 96 plus like someone mentioned above, they take forever. Not interested. Still want that HUD though. Worked on a 93 Bonneville with an HUD yesterday, so there's no excuse some 16 years later to not offer it.

Re: power passenger seat....

I'll be getting mine with power seats, but I could probably go with a fixed seat to my height. Because, no one else will be driving my Z. So I probably will never know if the motor goes out in it.

Totally agree w/ that. Plus, I want adjustable lumbar, bolsters, and even thighs if i can get it. Doubt you could work all that into manual control.

Let's not forget seat back too. GM seems to like to put a manual seatback control on power seats. My GTO actually has a power one (as does my parent's Olds minivan). I can then adjust it to just where I need instead of having to live with set adjustments (which always seem just a little off for me).

Of course this would be optional (I don't think anyone expects it standard) so those who don't like the weight/more parts can get their normal seats.

And while at it, can we get a tilt/telescope wheel? Once again same problem in the WS.6 where the wheel has about 5 adjustments and right in between two is where I need it to be comfortable so it doesn't hit my knees but is as straight as possible (laterly).
