Re: The new TA

Yes, I was just about to post a link to it. It could use a slight hood redesign, but the grille/bumper/airdam are really good.

Re: The new TA

None of those knock my socks off enough to think that GM should consider building them.

I would like to see a Firebird return, but it needs to be distinct from Camaro in more than just skin.

I honestly don't know why they did that again with the Solstice and Sky.

Think Sky is suppose to be the import type version like the S2000 where Solstice is supposed to be like the old bug eyed racers and AC Cobra style more american with the 50's Vette rear? Functionally I dont know the difference but I would be curious to know that myself.

My friend... Firebird ISN'T in the cards.

The chance of a Trans Am coming back can calculated in negative numbers.

Don't believe everything you read in magazines...
...especially magazines that cater to a particular brand. News (even made up)= sales.

This horse has been beaten to a liquid pulp on this site.

Do a search.

You're new around here, so I'll spare you.

Looks nothing like a Firebird, but looks like alot like a 5th gen based GTO.

That's because the 68-69 Firebirds were slapped together within 12 months. Camaro was done and headed to the factory when Pontiac jumped on board. With a timeline that short, where do you think they went for a performance nose?

Nope.

This comes directly from Pontiac's General Manager (both the former and the current one), & the Product Chairman of General Motors.

Before you start bellyaching about it or "how you would buy one in a second..." or "how GM is turning it's backs on the 'billions and gazillions' of Firebird fans" or "how you'll never buy another Pontiac, or another GM product" or "how you won't even live in the same hemisphere with the people who decided this", or any of the other things that's been posted here everytime the subject comes up, or before you accuse me of not being a Firebird Trans Am fan, like I told Archangel, do a search.

Every reason why GM isn't bringing back the Firebird, and why the Trans Am name is dead on a future GM product has been posted here before... in detail.... many, many times.

That one has too much of a smiley face front end. The black one is far more intimidating. The above one is too 'japanese' in the front for my taste. It looks like a body kit that might be put on an Eclipse or something.

I know I've said it here and elsewhere numerous times..... but Gawd I hope that is the direction Pontiac is going!

If "German Engineering" is so great, why did we kick their collective ***** a few decades ago?! Well.... OK maybe a little over 50 years ago, but who's counting....

I always liked the Firebird, but I hope they let it rest in peace. I would buy a 5 seater GTO with Camaro performance..... hell I'd trade my SS for one in a heartbeat. I can't say that for the new Camaro....

With dedication to product, Pontiac could kill all comers- just not with a TA that would be redundant for the overall GM product line (with the Camaro out there)- Just like it was when it was still on the market.... sorry!

Not really, unless ugly = intimidating. There is a much better black 2nd gen chop floating around somewhere.

You're kidding, right?

Comparing something that happened 61 years ago vs today's BMW??

BTW, FWIW, historically, the Russian winter (when Hitler overextended his troops) Stalin's willingness to use his own army as cannon fodder, and Roosevelt armming Britain before we got into the war layed the groundwork for us... "kicking *****"... of Germany. If Britain had fallen before December 1941, or if Hitler honored his treaty with Stalin and didn't invade Russia, history today would have been very different.

Only at camaroz28.com do you learn about what goes on at GM, talk to a man from Mars and get history lessons that you slept through in school. When does the online journalism class begin Guy?

Re: The new TA

I'm a die-hard firebird guy, bit that is just ugly.

Camaro looks great, IF the firebird rises from the ashes, It needs to be different, and not camaro based.....
