(notice there was no ZR1 Corvette at the time)
I agreed with guionM back in 08:

And in 09 someone heard me about making a good business case for the ZL1!!!

Re: I TOLD you so!!!

I'm just sayin'

It's all in good fun and the ZL1 is a nice rocket. That, we should all give a positive nod to.

Re: I TOLD you so!!!
HA HA! Well I didnt "call it" but I certainly suggested the ZL1 be a part of Chevys line up at the top of the HP line around 2005 which I thought was shot down. I suggested rather than simply "Top dog" look at both cars seperately and see what makes sense for the market, against the competition and for the monikers.
If you look at Ford, I cant tell if thats what they did or not. The Boss and boss laguna seca dont seem to fit in the line up linerally. I guess that could also be the Boss and Boss laguna seca are replacing the Shelby Cobra line up?
Shelby Super Snake
Shelby Cobra KR
Shelby Cobra
GT
Having said that, I really get the impression this ZL1 is comming in as a GT500 competitor which suits it just fine.
My reasons were:
COPO ZL1
- weight - ZL1 could be more likely acceptable at the weight this car is likely to be rather than at least the weight expectancy of the Z28.
- Super Charger would be acceptable on the ZL1 but not so much as the Z28 Road Racer
- Lightweight monster motor producing gobs of HP. 69 Big Block 427 ZL1 corresponds nicely to LS Supercharged.
- ZL1 has some cool history and Id love to see it back properly by GM. The original 69's were lost then recovered later and I used to check Ebay to see if there were any selling. I like the whole mystery but Im thrilled the current ones are badged so they are not lost like the originals were for a time... As I said "If you have it badge it! dont make me have to be an expert to figure out this is an ZL1 or 1LE" Badging is a rolling advertisement rather than assuming the Bad A$$ car youre looking at is modified.
