Re: I find it extremely funny

I'm kind of disappointed that the pics got leaked. NOT with the pics themselves (I admit, I stumbled across them, but on another message board) but I have that sort of "guilty" feeling like finding a Christmas present before Christmas. It basically ruins the surprise, and I was looking forward to the surprise at Detroit. But now the "secret" is out. Not like everybody didn't "know" already, but I still think it was best kept under wraps.

100% correct. They said they didn't know that they were any different from the 100 other concepts out there. Oh yea? Don't think so. Well why didn't they smear their logo all over those other 100 concepts? Yea they knew what they had this time. That site is getting a bit too big for themselves. I lurk there but I see a ton of arrogance and cockiness.

Then in the post he said "if anyone has a problem with us posting these, contact us and we'll take them down"...gee don't you think you should ask permission first? Any respectable/reputable website would. I don't blame Scott for getting steamed.
100% correct again. They claim they worked with GM in times before...then shouldn't they know better by now? They sure are backpedalling now. They ruined it for tons of people.

So Doug you ever plan to post over at LS1tech again?

I saw so much ignorance over there yesterday I could hardly read it.

For those who have seen it, and I have. It does look alot like a photochop that has been making the rounds on the net for quite awhile. And I'm betting no one will post that pic here any more either.

Well, now I'm torn between the Challenger, Camaro or Next Gen GTO.

But the pics are somebody's property, and LS1tech didn't have permission from the owner of the pictures to post them. In fact, NOBODY has permission. So whether they're on a Toyota site at the moment or a Le Car site, GM will eventually be contacting them to have them removed.

I've seen them pop up and then be deleted on like 3 different boards this morning alone. I refuse to put them up on any of the sites I'm affiliated with, both to minimize risk exposure and out of respect for Scott and what GM's been working to deliver to us. We made the announcement last night on LS1LT1.com that anyone who posts the pics will get banned instantly.

I'm torn too....but it is nice to finally have some choices out there.

Re: I find it extremely funny

I "find it extremely funny" that this forum has been dedicated to the second coming of the f-body for the last 4 years and has discussed nearly every rumor, spy shot, and hypothetical possibility imaginable about the 5th-gen... yet when actual plausible information is leaked, it becomes taboo to discuss.

It's like two kids describing their dads to each other when neither has seen the other kids dad... talking about who's dad could kick who's ***, who's stronger, who drives a cooler car, etc, etc... but the day they finally meet, neither kid will say a word about what they've spent the last 2 years talking about because they don't want dad to hear.

I can bet that if you saw the pics, you'll still be surprised by the NAIAS time. If I remember correctly in one of the original discussions at ls1tech, someone said it looks a lot like the car that was at one of the design clinics, so you aren't looking at the exact concept, and it's definitely going to change by the time of production. My only gesture is that we all saw the Challenger pics and it was turned into a very positive news buzz. If GM will allow us, let's turn it into a positive thing and get a huge buzz going for the new Camaro! It's only one month away, with us enthusiasts going crazy in joy for seeing the pics, let's create even MORE excitement for NAIAS.

Well I don’t know what to see because I was nicely told to be quite yesterday after my thread was deleted. I guess I’m a bit afraid to dive too deep into this. I’d lose my mind if I ever got banned from here.

I have a huge passion for this car, more than I can explain. I miss my 4th gen everyday. I love this community. I was over a Ls1tech last night and they act like a bunch a winy kids. I’m going to do my best to respect the higher ups around here and stay mostly quite about this situation for the time being.

Though again, this is very weird how quite this forum has been in the last 24 hours.

Ah hell, it don't bother me none....LOL! I have to laugh at the e-thugs of the world.

Tony's response was out of line....but about what I expected of him.

So how did LS1tech.com get them? By the way, firebirdv6.com still has them on their site...

That sounds like the right response. I was over at a Mopar board and guys were emailing Dodge with positive feedback on the design. Couldn't we do the same?
