are you sure this guy isnt just the first from their web site? theres been over 3,000 produced. wouldnt someone have received theirs a while ago if it were produced in the end of march? congrats to him though. still sucks for me.
Thanks for posting, but are you going start a thread here that doesn't include a link to Camaro5? It looks sort of staged. Just wondering. I see that they don't like people posting links on their site to other sites like this one.
he is the first. Remember, the cars produced earlier may have had problems so they were fixed and in the meantime the later vins were made so therefore they got delivered before.
Supposedly the dealership I work for is getting a red 2SS in sometime this week, so they should be reaching customers soon. Its sold, so hopefully I get to see it before the guy comes to pick it up.
Are you sure you weren't just trolling around?

We are all just one huge group of car enthusiasts. If we weren't, I wouldn't have bothered posting my performance threads on this forum.
There is a bit more to the story: I already had an account there, with the screen name JakeRobb. I had never posted anything with that account -- I only used it to send a PM to someone I was having a hard time reaching any other way. (Since this incident, I have posted one additional time with that account.)
I didn't want people to think I was trying to undermine Camaro5 by getting their users to come over here, so I created a new username that didn't reveal my identity.
A Camaro5 moderator (don't remember who) then deleted my thread and my new account, saying that I had created a second account in order to conceal my identity. While that's true, he completely misunderstood my motives. I wasn't doing it to be sneaky -- I was doing it out of respect.
I'm happy to hear that CamaroBuilder gained popularity over there despite their efforts to prevent it.
I have nothing but my word for evidence -- they deleted the rest.

Fair enough, but why not delete the one I never use, or at least PM me and ask which one I want to keep?
I don't like it when people from Camaro5 come here and post little more than a link to something on their site. It's like they're trying to draw traffic away. And with it having been revealed that Camaro5 is owned and paid for by a Chevy dealership in California, I don't much appreciate the attempt to divide our community.
You never see anybody from 5thgen.org (which is owned and operated by Tim DeYoung, a friend of Jason's) doing that.
Even worse, the admin (Tran) still hasn't admitted the truth, even when asked directly if he works at a dealership. He continues to claim to be "just an enthusiast." Well, ask yourself this. If he is really just an enthusiast, then why did he divide the community by creating another site? Why not join up with either of the two major Camaro-related boards already out there?
To be clear: I have no problem with dealers being active in the community. CamaroScotty is a member here, and he's public about the fact that he works at a dealership. The problem I have is with the secrecy.
But I digress. When I went to Camaro5 and posted about CamaroBuilder, I didn't want to be seen like I was trying to pull traffic, because I believe that's unethical. If I had posted with my JakeRobb screen name, my status as CZ28 moderator would have made it seem suspicious, and I didn't want that. I just wanted to share my contribution with the entire Camaro enthusiast community.
While it's more than a little bit out of date lately, CamaroBuilder still does things that the official one doesn't (invoice and employee discount pricing, or creating a link to your build, to name a couple).
