Fact or Fiction? PHR says 300 HP V6 Standard

Five years ago, the average MSRP of cars in USA was $28k, according to this:

Car prices have gone up - just matching inflation. Never mind the improvements also going in, like better safety and features.
As for the average prices of new Mustangs... I'd say Hyperv6 was even being a little conservative. I did a quick search on Ford's web site, for new Mustangs on dealer lots... inventory at local dealers seems to range from $27k - $37k MSRP. After taking out haggle-discounts, maybe he was pretty much right on.

A. Not sure the "top dog" will be available in a convertible.
B. Don't want to spend what they will be asking for it to get at least 400 hp.
I want a V8 convertible with at least 400hp (like the concept promised) at around $35-38k.

I agree, it won't be a popular option, but it should be available. If I walk into a dealerhsip and that's what I want, I will wait for them to ship it from Florida if that is where one is. As long as it is available, that's what I will want.

and the "top dog" to me will be the GT500 killer.... and 430HP isn't going to fill that need.

I just went to Ford.com and priced out a Mustang with the options that I want, convertible, V8, Nav, Shaker 500 Watt stereo, 3.55 axle, 5 speed manual, 18 inch wheels (biggest available) and even racing stripes. and it came to $35,605, Please GM, build me the Camaro with those options and 400 HP at around $36,000 and you can consider one SOLD.

i think they'll be in the ballpark for sure.... Fbodfather has been saying all along it will be competetively priced vs Mustangs.... and yeah... probably offering gobs more HP to boot... but we all know HP doesn't sell cars.

Agreed! I'm actually somewhat planning on having to order the car I want (think about the number of Camaros GM will sell (less than/near 100K?), divided by number of dealers, the fact that *most* people don't like manuals, and I don't want a loaded car = I'll probably never see what I want on a *local* lot)

As long as I'm not getting charged the same price as ones with all that junk, it's cool if I have to wait a bit.
Also, if I need to order it, then the only option I'll check off is V8, I just hope they'll let me order one like that if it's not offered.

GMHTP ran a new bone stock 2002 Z28 on a cold November day at Englishtown or Atco and got a 12.98 out of it. Cant remember the mph, but it was BIG news at the time.
2010 Camaro will probably cost more than an 09 Mustang. GM isnt giving us OnStar and IRS for free. Price per pound might be less...flame suit on.
