Dealer Allotment

I've called around a few dealerships trying to find the best place to order my 2010, and some of them are telling me they have allotment for ordering camaro's. Is there any way to know whether this is the initial allotment that will help me get my car sooner, or are they just telling me they have the ability to order a car normally?

It's hard to say. I'm surprised that any dealer hasn't filled their initial allocation by now, but it's possible. Ask them flat out what the situation is (how many do you have allocated right now and, if I ordered from you, how far down the list am I) and see what they tell you. If it sounds like BS, it probably is, but this is a good place to bounce what they tell you off of people for a second opinion. Another thing to ask is if they are charging any markup...if they are, walk out and have patience (or at least make sure they include a jar of Vasoline with your order).
