Chevy names their cars, where Pontiac used alphanumeric designations. It wouldn't fit. I don't care what name is used...I think the car deserves to survive.

We tested the Chargers and the cops didn't like them and the Tahoes weren't nimble enough for pursuit. So we're going with Crown Vics this year. I don't believe Pontiac G8s were made available to us because they are too new.

It'll be interesting to see if the State adds the Chevy Commodore to the list, because technically it is an import.

I think the Chevelle name would be a hit. Also have the car come in a 2 door version. I honestly think it would sell better than under the Pontiac name. They should also rebadge the Solstice as a Chevy, not sure what would be a good name for that car, Corvair???

Caprice. they already have the mold for the name at Holden.
Leave Impala in Oshawa as the fleet queen and volume seller for the large car segement.
Caprice LS cloth witth 3.6 DI
Caprice LT leather with 3.6 DI
Caprice LTZ leather with 6.0 aka G8 GT
Caprice SS sport leather with LS3 aka G8 GXP

....hell...even call it a Biscayne for all I care...

But NOT Camaro, and I don't expect there to ever be a 4-door Camaro so thankfully not all dreams (or nightmares) come true.
^Agreed...

i dont think the Caprice name will help sell the car. the name has to appeal to the car and caprice just doesnt fit that car at all.

I was originally thinking Biscayne but i think Chevelle would be even better. Ya itll upse enthusiasts but it seemed to work pretty well with the charger plus we now have a camaro for the guys who want a 2 door muscle car. It makes perfect sense to me.

also....

what about buick getting one? Give it a slightly upscale interior and some different body panels and charge extra for it and make even more profit. call it the grand national if u want or not. it doesnt really matter but it would essentially be like what GMC is for chevy trucks... same basic thing but costs more and is thus more profitable

im surprised buick wasnt one of the first thrown into cancellation. i dont see much coming from them. especially over cadillac as far as the luxury aspect goes.
