You mention that the G8 GXP is included in the deal - are you doing the G8 GT, or the G8 GXP? If the G8 GT, I'd buy it. If the G8 GXP for a similar discount, I'd buy it even faster.

G8 is a great car but, if pontiac is about to disappear, what will happen with replacement parts?

I wouldn't worry about it. The car will be supported through Chevrolet dealerships just like a G6, G5, G3 or Solstice would.

If you can get all the same rebates on a GXP, that would still put a GXP likely under 30K. If that is the case Go, commence, initiate, make so, start.

But it's still a great price for a GT. It is a very nice car, but it won't have the performance of the SS.

are you sure that you can use the 5,000 on the g8 ? i was only allowed 1k on my gm card for the camaro.

i would go with the camaaro. it gets so much morel ooks and attention than the g8. i like both ofthem but, unless it were a g8 gxp , i would go for the camaro.

Yes, this is a special offer for "select" GM Mastercard holders, lol whatever that means. I get the 5k on all Pontiacs, All Saturns, and most of the big SUVs and other relatively unpopular models. 3k on most everything else. Ironically enough, I could get 5k off a Corvette too, which would be very tempting if I didn't already have one

G8 is a hell of a car at MSRP. At 23k I would say it is an amazing deal. The fact is as much as I love the Camaro it will be bought at MSRP and will depreciate a ton in that first year. Two years in you will be way ahead with the G8. Having said that you gotta drive what gets you excited.

I'd say GXP G8. Otherwise Camaro SS. 6-speed either way

Yesterday I was driving to Louisville and a white G8 GT passed me on the interstate. I'd never seen a white one before it looked pretty sweet especially from the rear. When I was in Louisville I stopped by a Chevy dealer to see if they gotten any new Camaros in. They had one SS2, Black w/CGM stripes and IO interior, it was already sold.

It got me thinking would I rather have a G8 or Camaro. My plan was to hold out for a Camaro Convertible next year or the year after. The things the G8 has going for it IMO, I like the interior better, dash layout, 4-doors is a plus now that I have a family. But my love for the open top is still with me. So I don't know, a 4-door sports sedan or a open top pony car.

When/if Pontiac dies next year there should be some great deals on the G8 or any Pontiac for that matter. I remember when GM killed Oldsmobile they had just came out with the new Aurora and you could get some crazy deals on that car, and at the time it was one of GMs best cars. And here we are again GM is killing one of there best cars, things haven't changed much.

I bought a G8 GT yesterday

Got my 5K off from the GM Card and took another 4,500 off from loyalty cash / dealer cash.

Traded in my Chryco (02 300M) and and only had to finance 17.5K as compared to the 32K sticker

It's stryker blue and I pick it up Mon / Tuesday (waiting on my credit union)

I got 4.24% interest rate from my credit union, of course the don't let you got the zero % plus the loyalty cash.

My *** dyno confirm high 13's based on my test drive

Same here. My sticker was $34,040, got the Premiuim and Sport packages. Got it for invoice, plus $4500 in incentives, plus $5000 in GM Mastercard bucks = $23,4xx. One might say I am a happy camper .

Excellent, thanks for the heads up on the GM card letter as my wife had put my GM thing in the shredder pile.......I never saw it till I started digging for it.

I'm stoked, between the G8 GT and my 73 Z/28 w/ LS1 swap I'm all set for cars. My 73 is my street / strip ride and so far has run a best of 12.2 @ 110 I'm sure it won't take me long to get the G8 down the old 1320 but my intention is to keep it stock and reliable.

Back in January, I had the same problem. The dealer offer me a G8 GT 2009, for $26,000. with three more grand kids on the way I took it, and I'm very happy I did. The car is a rocket. I had it tuned and dyno'ed

Baseline: 310.61 RWHP / 334.53 Torque CAI and mufflers (axle back)
W/Tune: 321.53 RWHP / 342.84 Torque

with the saving I was able to upgrade my 02 Camaro SS w/heads, cam and install, and still pay less than a guy, who paid $33,000 for a 2010 V6 Camaro w/ RS packages.
The interior is a lot better in the G8.

Camaro Chart

405.54 RWHP / 386.22 Torque N/A
529.57 RWHP / 553.18 Torque NOS (100 Shot)

One day I will have a used 2010 Camaro.
