However, it was MT that came up with the idea that just because GM was doing a Camaro concept & not a GTO that the GTO was a certainty and that Camaro wasn't going to be produced, so IMO the guy writing that probally played football without a helmet on the freeway as a kid.

Everything.
Would you look to someone who has fallen to a life of heroine use and ask them for monthly budget advice?

I think motor trend many times gets its info out an issue or 2 ahead of the other magazines. Unreliabilty is the price that is paid for getting info sooner. Its like checking the weather a week in advance: It could turn out to be right, it could turn out to be dead wrong. The other magazines tell you there is gonna be a thunderstorm as its starting to rain.

I went back to MT's site and found the article that stated Camaro, Chevelle and any other Chevy RWD car was dead but the GTO was a go.
But regardless MT is wrong.

That's not the point. The point is that some take MT, Automobile, Autoweek, R&T as gospel, and then perpetuate the rumors all over the net, when in fact they have been wrong more than right in their predictions.
Plus so GM hasn't said anything on this subject and most likely will not until June.

Right you are. But some tend to have a worse record than others.
Car and Driver tends to be pretty good and so does Road & Track. Automobile seems to be only 50/50 recently, but Motor Trend (which once was one of the best years ago at future cars) seems be behind the curve or off base far more than not.
But then again, if you know which sites to go to and who to listen to, you can pick up stuff 3 months or more before car mags can get it in print.

Re: Camaro on MT Cover - Also GTO Dead?
Has anyone found out any other info about the GTO not being redesigned? I found it hard to believe that Pontiac won't have a RWD V8 muscle car in their lineup. They need an American styled GTO or the firebird. I mean Pontiac is the performance division right. This was the first source that I have found stating the GTO as being dead.

Plus there are tons of mags out there that are straight up Toyota/Honda nut-huggers or else Euro nut-huggers. No thanks.
