GMHTP just reported in their latest issue that the Camaro is slated for a 2010 model, with production starting in 2009.
It was also confirmed the car will be built in Austrailia at the Holden division.
They said there were questions surrounding whether or not the car would get IRS or a live axle also, but nothing confirmed.

 

 

What is with your atitude?

Let the public think what the magazines say.. Perhaps it will build up excitement and future buyers.. You know not everyone who is going to buy the car is an enthusiast... Stop with this goddamn you know more than everyone else atitude..

It may not be accurate, but it also may not be far off.. Let the public buy in to it.. It can help drive sales up by letting people know its coming! The average non enthusiast will not go searching for Camaro forums to see if what they read is true.. They will assume it is true, and LET THEM..

In my original statement, I never even said that I knew xxx information, all I said was that I couldn't say that their statements were true/false...
But sinced you liked to play games, I figured I might as well contribute.
But seriously, these articles are written, sometimes months, before they are published..and some magazine still have the gawl (sp?) to claim its breaking/exclusive/confimational news.

That said, if you look at the key players, you can figure stuff out without asking questions. Look up the posts by Scott, Stefan, Guy, fastdog (i think thats his username) and others. They drop hints all the time...and individually, you may not believe those hints, but if you put them together you'd get one heck of a 5th generation Camaro.

and even when it's all said and done. If I went down to GM's engineering building, and lay out the blueprints and product production plans for the next Camaro....THEY CAN STILL BE CHANGED BY THE TIME THE CAR COMES OUT.
That's why I have learned to filter out any article that says keywords like "official" and "confirmed," because nothing is official, nothing is set in stone. And it won't be until the final pre-production mule is being locked up in its stall.

Ok. While we're playing games....were you implying that you couldn't say because you would be breaking a law/rule/etc that could get you in trouble? Or were you saying that you couldn't say simply because you didn't know it were true or not?

I've written a few mag articles, so I am aware of the time lag (had one published over a year after it was submitted), and agree with your statement about "breaking" news.

Oh my. This all gets back to the "winkie club" stuff.

This is a website that wrote this particular article. At least magazines try to be decent about gathering info from mulitple sources (usually anyways), this site, like other that came before and will come after, is most likely trying to get people's attention.
