Camaro Concept Leak

Was it intentional? Or was it actually leaked--bribed from someone?

Did GM / Chevy want those pictures out to get hype?

Re: Camaro Concept Leak

Moved to the right forum.

And it was absolutely not an intentional leak. Been talked about in this forum a lot.

Re: Camaro Concept Leak

From what I gathered it was indeed an unwanted breach of security. I was told that several people lost their jobs over the incident and not just because of leaking the pictures, but because the pictures were of 3/4 models that were not any near the final design for the concept.

Pictures like this would not only spoil the surprise but they would more than likely cause people to form judgement on the car way before they had even seen the final product. For the division of GM that had worked so hard to get the concept even considered, having an issue like this 2 months before the auto show could have devestated the progress this progress had made. Just think if the pictures had shown up in Car and Driver or Motor Trend and people looked at the two unmatched body panels and said "ugghh that is ugly" They would have been completly blind to the final product and thus it would have rendered the concept useless.

It was exciting for us to know that it was comming and even to look at what to expect...but honestly I would have been happier if I had gotten to wait and see it at the show like a kid on Christmas.

Re: Camaro Concept Leak

It was most definitely not intentional.
I know in absolute certainty that jobs were lost because of it.

Did you mean to say 'unwanted'? If so I agree with you...

Yeah I did...I felt like an idiot after realizing I had missed that in my last edit.
