There's no way to truly see what they're going to look like by looking at a flat piece of cardboard.

I think the cardboard grille/light insert on the red car would qualify as a mock-up. It doesn't function but it gives an idea of what the assembly would look like.

Those covert bubble lamps are mighty weird looking to me. For the record, headlights have been my main concern the whole time. I'd love to see a straight-on shot of the silver convertible to ease my mind.

The headlights in the silver vert are cardboard as well, and not production since that car is an early mock up.

why would they drive around and test the car with lights that are not even gonna go on the car? shouldnt they test the headlights as well to see what visibility is like?

Last I knew, the production lights weren't ready yet. Also, you can't show EVERYTHING, and they are currently showing a LOT with the cars they have running around right now.

because the final headlights arent ready yet.. but they still need to test the car now so they need to put something on there for it to be street legal

the time will come when they will test the car with production headlights

they HAVE to show a lot, every mustang or challenger that gets sold this year and last year (mustang),most likely means the owners of those cars are NOT going to buy a Camaro even if they wanted to because they will be so buried in their cars (owe more than theyre worth).pretty much every mustang and challenger sale today is taking a sale away from GM.

I understand your point, but you have to be able to keep a few things secret and keep the public guessing to keep their interest. If you reveal everything before the car is even available, people won't be as excited for the car. Would you anticipate watching the Superbowl if you already knew who was going to win?

i dont anticipate the super bowl as it is, its a bunch of overhyped crap so i hope youre not comparing the camaro to that.

No it's the other way around. The Camaro will be taking sales from the Mustang and Challenger next year. (In theory) They already have a head start and are selling at this time. The Camaro has no sales at this time. The auto industry sales goals for this year are expected to shrink ever so slightly and that trend is expected to continue into next year also. The Camaro, as a new vehicle will be expected to make its sales in a shrinking auto industry and steady to slightly decreasing segment.

You can't worry about the Mustang and Challenger sales this year. It's the sales next year when the Camaro is available that count.
