Mods to AFM

If the new Camaro was to get AFM, how would this play into doing mods that would require a more heavy duty lifter? Or would there need to be any major modifications to put a larger cam in the aspect of lifters or vacuum differences?

If you had any plans on modifying your Camaro, I would NOT buy one with AFM. I am fairly certain they will make ones equipped with AFM and ones that aren't.

If not, I'm sure a good tuner could disable AFM before doing your mods...but it would be cool if we could order the car without it.

Would that be because it's FWD?? j/k
I've never heard complaints about performance in vehicles with AFM before....

If you are modding enough that it will effect AFM (Heads, Cam) then you will need a tune anyway. At that point AFM can be adjusted or deleted.

I highly doubt they will offer yes or no to the AFM. They need to have that on all there cars to keep the MPH average down as per CAFE.

We have yet to see a car or truck with both AFM (by any name) and a manual transmission from any manufacturer so buying one with a stick shift may be a way delete AFM.

BTW: CAFE requires them to keep the average MPG up, your MPH is between you and cops.
