Actually, I do prefer a slightly larger Camaro to a smaller one. The 4th Gen was, imo, a good size. No smaller than 3rd Gen certainly, that's pushing it by todays standards even.

Why is that?

Actually I suppose I should reword that.

I prefer a slightly larger car on the inside. If they can keep the inside with as much room as the driver had in the 4th Gen, but make the outside slightly smaller I don't care.

I found, at least for the driver, my '02 was VERY comfortable when it came to roominess.

I know rear seat room is important to making the new Camaro more functional, so I just can't imagine the driver retaining the amount of room I had in my '02 PLUS more room in the rear for passengers in a smaller vehicle. So, I'd prefer the Camaro retain it's 4th Gen proportions at least.

(Note: Personally I couldn't care less about rear leg room. I'm unmarried w/ no kids and that's not something likely to change anytime in the future. I just tell people who complain about the back that if they'd like to drive they're own car they're welcome to, I didn't buy the car for their comfort. But I know it's important to others.)

I'm not sure if there's ever been any pictures of the 5th gen right next to a 4th gen, and I honestly always thought the 5th gen was larger than the 4th gen, but looking at the pictures the headlights are almost identical height and the car's stance is dead on with the 4th gen.

Anyway, here's the pics:

i don't see the pics.

Hey, off topic question, but are there any Callaways in your club? I think there's a silver one in that area. I didn't want to look at all the thumbnails with a magnifying glass looking for one without asking first!

I have my 3rd AND 4th gen side by side with the concept....everyday on my coffee table!!

Let me tell ya, each gen gets bigger and bigger looking. It's just the concept's belt line is higher and has shorter overhangs. It changes the whole perception of things. The doors look almost the same length, just the concept's is taller, so it appears shorter. The dash to nose length is almost the same, maybe shorter by a few inches on the concept. Engine looks like it moved forward from the 4th gen. All this is based on die cast models, of course.

Nice pics. That's the good thing about car shows in the Detroit area ya never know when GM will send something memorable over. I miss those days.

I like the way the Concepts fit in the real world with past Camaros. Dimensionally similar looking to the 4th gen. Although the concept does have the wider broader shoulder look down. I now like the convert concept wheels better than the coupes. Very nice presence in the real world.

Just thing of how much easier changing the plugs will be on the 5th gen.

I think the actual production versions might be a bit higher in the stance which would make the 4th gens lower. Just a guess though.

Also, my 4th gen has saggy suspension, so my car looks lower than stock.

hmmmmm.... the 4th. gens actually look more aggressive and aerodynamic than the 5th. gen. Guess I like the coupe better than the convertible.

I don't like the grille much now that I see it in a real life setting. I'll have to see how it looks at a dealership.

In person at the dealership it will look MUCH better. Trust me, the 4th Gen is in no way more agressive looking than the 5th.

Most of these pics don't do the 5th Gen justice.
